Customer Reviews about BluePearl Veterinary Partners

  • I'm not for sure why others have given this location poor reviews. I arrived around 2pm today with my cat whom I suspected had a UTI as he was having problems emptying his bladder. 4 other people entered the facility with their pets at nearly the same time as I arrived. All of us were greeted promptly and professionally. Shortly thereafter a triage nurse came in and talked with each of us about our pets needs. Just like a hospital ER each pet was seen in order of severity of their condition. My pet was not exhibiting any extreme discomfort, so the other 4 were seen before us. There was another person's pet who was extremely shocky and having difficulty breathing. This animal was immediately taken back and given oxygen. Everyone working at this location clearly loved animals and wanted to help everyone. I actually ended up having to wait over an hour for my cat to be seen, but I was not upset at this because I saw the state of the other peoples pets and they clearly needed to be seen first. During my wait, a tech came out and talked to me and assured me that as soon as a room opened up she would take me right back. Also during my wait, the receptionist came over and offered to fix me a coffee or cappuccino. I thought that was very nice of both of them to take the time to chat. When we were taken back to the room, the tech was very good with my cat and constantly talked to him to calm him as she was taking his vitals. She noted to me that temp and heart rate were normal, and the doctor would be in soon to see my pet. Yes, it was about another 15 minutes before the vet came in, but like I said before this did not bother me because I understand triage of patients. When Dr. Ervin came in he was polite, professional, and caring. He was very gentle with my pet, and talked calmly explaining everything as he went through the exam. My cat ended up being diagnosed with cystitis. He was given fluids and a pain shot at the clinic, and also had cultures run via urinalysis. The doctor even printed off some additional information on my cats condition for me. Though we were there for about 3 hours, I was able to take my kitty boy home tonight. They also sent some medications home with us for him. Expensive? No not in my opinion. This is not an everyday vet clinic. It's an ER for animals. If you go to your regular MD for an ailment, it's less expensive than if you go to a hospital ER right? Same case with Blue Pearl. It's Emergency medicine for your pet. I felt the price was fair for services rendered in an ER. These folks care about your pet and about you. If you love your pet and need emergency care, these folks are great, but they need your help too. They need as much info as you can provide them about your pets emergency in order to help you. Emergency medical triage does NOT mean "first come first served". People must realize this. Also, they welcome people to call ahead to check on potential wait times. If your pet needs emergency treatment this is a wonderful place and they are open 24/7 just like human hospitals. I thank them so much for their compassionate care toward my kitty boy Koda today!

Blue pearl continues to delete my review and i can only assume its because their services were much less than satisfying (in fact it was awful) otherwise they wouldn't take it down. Don't come here. Update: I took my dog to another hospital where they found that he had a high fever and a stomach bug. They did bloodwork and found that there was nothing abnormal. I refused the x- rays that Blue Pearl offered due to the fact that this was 215$. I Did not have the money on me and they would not take payments... in fact they don't bring your animal out until payment is received. The new hospital i brought him to said there was no need for an x-ray. His labs, the visit for the entire day and his antibiotics from the new hospital totaled 133$ versus Blue Pearls nearly 600$. Rip off.

Hands down the WORST veterinary experience ever!!! Under no circumstances would I ever take a pet to these fear mongering parasites. With an English Bulldog as a member of our family we are no strangers to the vet's office. Our dog had been coughing and repeatedly vomiting for a majority of the day so we became concerned and decided to take her to the only vet we could find open on a Sunday in Lees Summit. After their "examination" which consisted of their on call Vet seeing my dog for a total of about 60 seconds, the vet and vet tech left the room to put together a treatment plan. Upon returning the tech presented my wife and I with "option 1" which consisted of and IV an x-ray and an overnight stay for $1155.81. I told the tech I thought that was a bit expensive for the treatment being recommended. She said" I will let you two talk about it and left the room, to return about 5 minutes later with "option 2" for $204.91 which consisted of an IV and shot to settle her stomach. At this point I asked the Vet tech "what was actually wrong with my dog and what she actually needed?" At this point I start to get a lot of double talk and nothing that resembled a straight answer. As I checked out I was waiting to pay $94.00 the cashier for no real diagnosis or treatment, I started to get more upset about the situation. You people play on the emotions of a sick pet/ family member. You start your "negotiations" at an unrealistically high number only to back it down when you are challenged buy a patient. If my dog NEEDS $1155.81 in treatment I will gladly pay it....but how does it instantly have a $900.00 swing in NEEDED services when questioned? You people are disgusting and I will advise everyone I know to avoid your side show veterinary practice.
